A webinar is an online seminar that focuses on a specific topic that is both relevant and current for early years providers.
Here you can get free access to monthly webinars hosted by our own early years experts.
Participants are able to view a ‘live’ presentation and have the opportunity to submit questions and contribute to discussion. Each webinar then remains available via our You Tube channel.
Next webinar: Welcome Back: where we are now
Wednesday October 21 18:00 – 19:00
The early years sector can be proud of how it has responded to the pandemic.
We hear regular accounts of the creative and tenacious ways childminders, pre-schools and nurseries have answered the challenges of COVID-19 all aimed at ensuring the well-being, learning and development of young children is paramount.
Where we initially planned for things to be returning to normal be autumn, we are now adjusting to variable situations that could last indefinitely.
Please join Michael Freeston and Melanie Pilcher to reflect on how the sector has responded to providing childcare in this most difficult of times and consider the challenges that lie ahead through the winter and beyond.
Amongst other topics, the session will focus on local lockdowns, Ofsted inspections and well-being.
Last webinar: Introducing the new Development Matters
Aired: Thursday 17 September 18:00 – 19:00
A new Development Matters, issued earlier this month, is intended to support the implementation of the 2021 Early Years Foundation Stage which includes the revised learning goals and educational programmes.
The year lead-in time to the new EYFS provides an opportunity for practitioners to familiarise themselves with the new framework and review their practice accordingly. Similarly the launch of the non-statutory Development Matters guidance encourages practitioners to reflect on their vital role of providing a curriculum that is rich, varied and based upon the interests and needs of the individual child.
Please join Michael Freeston, Director of Quality Improvement and Melanie Pilcher, Quality and Standards Manager as they explore the new document, consider and its aim to support the new EYFS.
Our previous webinars are available on our YouTube channel.
