With less than a month to go until Childcare Expo Midlands returns to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, a fantastic line-up of education and early years experts have been confirmed to give CPD seminars and workshops on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September.
Cutting the ribbon at the show doors on the Friday, Shadow Early Years Minister, Tracy Brabin MP will be officially opening the event at 10am, before taking to the stage to give a free keynote speech to lay out how she believes government policy should work for settings.
Tracy will be followed by some of the biggest names in the early years sector, including Stella Louis from Early Education, SEND Consultant and Trainer, Julie Revels, and Lorna Fitzjohn HMI from Ofsted.
On Saturday 29th September, top names include Dr Sue Allingham from Early Years Out of the Box, Educational Psychologist, Marion Nash and Pennie Akehurst from Early Years Fundamentals.
Other special guests due to appear at the show include former Children’s TV Presenter, Dave Benson Phillips (perhaps best known for presenting the BBC’s Get Your Own Back) and Ben Faulks, who plays Mr Bloom in the CBeebies show, Mr Bloom’s Nursery.
Emma Barrett, Childcare Expo's Event Director said:
“We’re delighted to have Shadow Early Years Minister, Tracy Brabin opening the show this year, where she will be giving a highly anticipated keynote speech - we can’t wait for our visitors to get chance to meet her and hear her thoughts on the sector. With Dave Benson Phillips and Ben Faulks also set to join us at the show, this year’s Midlands event is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet!”
Focus on Health, Wellbeing and Nutrition
Visitors will also have chance to explore Childcare Expo’s new Health and Wellbeing Zone, which will focus on the key issues that children along with practitioners often face, with three dedicated areas looking at nutrition, emotional wellbeing and mental health, and physical health - all created and hosted by experts.
In the Nutrition Area, The Early Years Nutrition Partnership will be giving tips and ideas for promoting a healthy and happy lifestyle, where Ben Faulks will also be teaching visitors how to play the Healthy Eating Song on the ukulele.
Childcare Expo Midlands is set to be one of the biggest sector events of the year, with 2 days of inspiration and new ideas for early years practitioners and education professionals. For free tickets or further information, visit www.childcareexpo.co.uk or call 01425 838393.
