DfE seeks bids for early outcomes fund

The Department for Education (DfE) is seeking bids from local authorities for share of a £6.5 million fund aiming to support early language development.
The DfE is looking for bids from partnerships of three or four local authorities, as well as single authorities, for bids of up to £1.5 million.
The fund is for the financial year 2018 to 2019 and 2019 to 2020. It aims to increase leadership focus on early language and enable local authorities to improve their services in this area.
The DfE hopes that the fund will help increase partnership working amongst local authorities that can be then be shared more widely.
The application process is now open and is due to close on 18 January 2019.
