The government has launched its Best Start in Life campaign to help parents and families navigate the support and guidance available to them.

The new Best Start digital parenting hub – formerly the Childcare Choices website – brings together parenting, healthcare and education support services in a bid to help break down barriers to opportunity for every family.

It also aims to make early education and childcare more accessible by targeting engagement in areas where there has been low uptake of the funded entitlement expansion – which, from September 2025, allows eligible working families to access up to 30 hours of funded early education and childcare for children aged nine months and over.

The website offers advice and guidance around topics such as breastfeeding and weaning, alongside practical tools including childcare and early education support, a breakfast clubs map and links to local support for parents and families.
