The Early Years Alliance is excited to be offering this new NCFE CACHE qualification - Level 2 Award in an Introduction to Neuroscience in Early Years.

This online course will provide an introduction to the early development of the brain in babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age.

How will this course be delivered?

The course will be delivered through 30 weekly interactive online lessons with the class tutor.

Learners will attend online lessons, complete written tasks, research and upload evidence to their online portfolio.

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification aims to provide an introduction to the early development of the brain in babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age. It looks at how the social brain develops, the limbic system and self-regulation.

The course provides continued professional development of new knowledge and skills in neuroscience in early years and supports the practitioner role in the workplace.

It consists of two mandatory units.

  • Understanding neuroscience in early years knowledge
  • Understanding self-regulation and how to nurture this in children from birth to seven years

What are the enrolment requirements?

Learners must be aged 16 or above, be working in the early years sector and meet the required literacy and numeracy assessment level.

Do I need to be working to take this qualification?

No, this is a knowledge-based qualification with no assessment in the workplace.

What is the cost and how long does it take to complete?

The course fee is £500 per person (instalments are available). This qualification is delivered over 30 weeks.
