Look up funding rate changes and childcare closures in your constituency

A combination of years of government underfunding and the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic is having a hugely detrimental impact on the sustainability of early years providers in England.

Substantial investment into the early years is urgently needed to ensure the long-term viability of the sector. Without this, many nurseries, pre-schools and childminders may be forced to close. This risks not only reducing childcare support for parents, but also harming early educational opportunities for young children across the country.

To help illustrate why greater funding for the sector is needed, the Early Years Alliance has compiled constituency level data on funding changes over the past three years (since the introduction of the Early Years National Funding Formula, and the 30-hour funded childcare offer) and provider closures over the past five years.

To see this information, simply choose the relevant parliamentary constituency from the drop-down menu below (to reduce the need to scroll, you can click on 'Select Constituency' and then type the first letter of your constituency).
