In September 2025, updates to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) came into effect.

The updated guidance includes several changes that have been implemented to “strengthen the EYFS safeguarding requirements and make them more comprehensive for early years providers” and “ensure that all children are kept as safe as possible in early years settings”, such as changes to the requirements around:

  • safer recruitment
  • child absence
  • safer eating
  • safeguarding training
  • paediatric first aid requirements for inclusion in ratios
  • whistleblowing
  • children’s privacy

Want to feel confident that your setting is adhering to the latest changes? The newly-published EYFS Statutory Framework 2025 – reflecting on your practice is a must-have publication, which identifies the changes that have been made and includes an ‘at-a-glance’ reference to the implications for both group providers and childminding professionals.

Suitable for both those who are new to the sector and exploring the EYFS for the first time and experienced providers who want to update their knowledge, this publication also explores the EYFS more broadly, examining the role of the document in supporting best practice in your setting, as well as how the Framework interacts with other non-statutory guidance.
