Frequently asked questions
How does the ‘blended’ training work?
The first part of the course is undertaken online.
This element must be completed before attending the face-to-face training, with no longer than six weeks between starting the online and completing the face-to-face.
On completion, learners will receive a Paediatric First Aid certificate, valid for three years.
What is the advantage of doing a 'blended' course?
Usually most Paediatric First Aid training is delivered as face-to-face training over a two-day period to cover requirements for those working in the early years sector.
This has presented challenges for the sector who need to commit considerable time while also covering additional costs for temporary staff who need to ensure ratios are maintained during staff absences.
St John Ambulance’s new blended Paediatric First Aid meets this demand for more flexible training packages with a focus on working with young children.
Blended First Aid courses are unusual and makes St John Ambulance one of the market leaders in this field and in the sector.
In addition, online training at these difficult times is a safer training option as it cuts down travel requirements and attending face-to-face training on one day as opposed to two-day courses.
How much does it cost?
The course will cost £162 (incl. VAT) outside London/M25 and £222 (incl. VAT) inside London/M25.
Alliance members receive a 20% discount i.e. £129.60 (incl. VAT) and £177.60 (incl. VAT) respectively.
